im sorry ok why the hell did i not realise that you made music this whole time. i saw your name in the featured section and i was like WHAT. it feels like both your art and music style are seriously tongue kissing each other, and i love you for that. just for next time tho, id say to add a heavy but short kick drum that matches to your break sample, so that it retains some flow, as it can blend too much into the background sometime. other than that, i look forward to whats comign next :33

Tyhond responds:

Thank you! :D I'm still learning!

this is such a fun song!! also, just wanted to ask, why is pretty much every bitpop artist from sweden or other scandanavian places? whats the common factor there? and does it have anything to do with the rise of Slagsmalsklubben (which, to my knowledge, is the first bitpop band)? im trying to piece together a full coherent story of bitpop so far as a genre.
Thanks and also awesome tune!!!

rymdkraft responds:

Good question, actually I think it can be related to so many people having PC's (and of course gaming consoles) growing up in Sweden, even way back before internet times. The demoscene was quite large and people made electronic tracker music everywhere, even Axwell from Swedish House Mafia started out making Fasttracker 2 music. When growing up here in the 90s you also could get financial support from the government to practice music in rehearsal rooms they built across the country, plus free music tutoring, which probably wasn't all that common around the world. Regarding SlagsmÄlsklubben, I do believe they don't want to be labeled as bitpop or chiptune since they actually perform and record using real, old synthesizers rather than gaming console audio or having demoscene chiptune influences. I'd say they're more a reaction to super serious synth music, almost "ironic synth" with funny track names and.. well, less seriousness. Absolute legends. But I get why they get cast in the same slot sometimes since those synths can sound pretty bitpoppy, with arps and everything.

this is sick!!! am i allowed to sample this in a song of my own? i dont plan to make it anytime around now, but im planning a mostly sample-mashup-based album in the near-ish future and this would work perfectly. if not i could just use it as inspiration, but i just wanted to know anyway

whoa, you sure this wont get taken down for copyright or something?? its great, but i mean, be careful!?

Hexelbit responds:

Thanks for the concern, but that's not how it works a little bit. According to copyright, a serious violation is considered either the use of 2 or more tracks without changes in their content (for example, in a video), or posting one of someone else's without any changes (for example, when trying to present someone else's track as your own). And then, it's about the video. From the point of view of my music, in the worst case, (and the chances of this are minimal), it will be considered as a remix, given that the track from where I took the vocals is very different, and the vocals are greatly changed.

extremely underrated. this whole album was ANGELLIC and refreshing to listen to, and i hope you one day get the recognition you deserve!

TriangleReality responds:

thank you so so much!! <3

i seriously think homestuck's music is defined by a mix and match of orchestral, hip-hop/sampled drums and chiptune leads. the latter is all that this is missing. also the drum mixing is a little off bc it sounds messy where it currently is due to how high-pass it is. but other than that, a pretty wholesome mashup :P :)

Latadenata responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to keep it in mind for the next time! :)

holy hell this is really cool. this is all you??? this is the heaviest non-edm thing ive heard on newgrounds in a really long time... soloists ftw!!!!

MRM3 responds:

Yes, all me.
I've been dabbling in re-imaging songs, and adding solos in songs that don't have em.
Do you have a song that you'd like to hear a solo in? Any genre!

patches sound wicked heavy. something straight from a shadient x wavedash song

slowfreq responds:

Thank you :-) I don't know who those people are but I'm sure they're nice

WHY IS IT 16 MINUTES? also yea i can hear where a couple things might need tweaking but it sounds alright in general. happy bday to ur dad"

Axsou responds:

for some reason there's a glitch with how long it is

Theepicosity responds:
